the conflicting impulses theory of humanity

We delight in what is novel.

We find comfort in what is familiar.

We recoil from what is painful.

Life at any extreme is simple and predictable. All chaotic and irrational behaviour results from resolving the tension caused by overlapping impulses, such as dealing with an idea that is both novel and painful, or finding the balance between what is novel and familiar.

[DNP] New track title: "Slave to War (I'm a)"

Here are the lyric ideas so far, but this is a global request for content.

He gets on with life as a soldier,
He's a tiny kinda chap.
He likes games on Sundays,
He likes beer in the week.
But when he starts to daydream,
His mind turns straight to War.

Sometimes I look at him and I look into his eyes,
I notice the way he thinks about acid with a smile,
Curved lips he just can't disguise.
But he thinks it's guns making his life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for him to decide which he loves more?
Guns or...
War?

He likes to use words like 'die,'
He likes to use words like 'fail.'
But when he stops his talking,
His mind turns straight to War.

Sometimes I look at him and I look into his eyes,
I notice the way he thinks about acid with a smile,
Curved lips he just can't disguise.
But he thinks it's guns making his life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for him to decide which he loves more?
Guns or...
WAR?

SLAVE (echo), SLAVE TO WAR! (echo), SLAVE!

He likes to hang out with funeral,
He likes to kick back with morgue,
But when left alone,
His mind turns straight to WAR.

Sometimes I look at him and I look into his eyes,
I notice the way he thinks about acid with a smile,
Curved lips he just can't disguise.
But he thinks it's guns making his life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for him to decide which he loves more?
Guns or...
WAR!

SLAVE (echo), SLAVE TO WAR! (echo), SLAVE!
